Does the Real Grinch threaten Christmas?

 Artscript Publications ArticlesEach season there is a lot of talk about “political correctness” when referring to Christmas. Each passing year it gets more and more difficult to talk and greet each other openly about the real reason for the season. Here in the west, we rarely consider this insidious undermining of our freedom, but our fellow believers in oppressed areas of the world would be quick to tell us to stand up and fight. Fighting for our freedom has become a foreign concept in our peaceful country, but if we would just look beyond our borders we would see an ensuing threat to our beliefs, our life style and our freedoms that would scare us nearly to death.

Of course, here at home, we notice little more than a resistance to our peaceful Canadian and American lifestyles which are still enhanced by Christian morals, beliefs and our enjoyed freedoms ... but look closely at what the “real Grinch” the enemy of all things good, would have for us if we allow him.

Throughout the ages this Grinch has not only stolen Christmas from many unsuspecting families, communities and even countries, but has come in a wave of terror, leaving only destruction in his wake. Our wonderful, peaceful Canada suffered the destruction of over 60,000 men and women to help free the world of this oppressor when he raised himself up in a Nazi uniform only a few years ago. Not even television can depict the true suffering of those who were maimed and tortured by these killers. Although freedom and morality triumphed over this anti-Christ and we enjoyed a few subsequent years of quiet, he is rising again, and this time on many fronts with many new and terrible tactics.

While our brave soldiers in the Middle East willingly serve to help free those people from their oppressor and try to prevent further terror in those countries, the terrorists themselves, disguised as a religion of good, have categorically announced that any and all who will not bow down to their brand of control and oppression must be killed. They emphatically vow to completely wipe out the freedom and lifestyle that we have all come to enjoy in the free world. All that prevents them from an all out attack is our willingness and ability to fight for our freedom

The devil works on several fronts simultaneously to weaken our defences, not the least of which are found here in our own free country, slowly chipping away at its foundation of Christian beliefs and morals that have given us the freedom we now enjoy. It is the negative, oppressive spirit of the anti-Christ, that Grinch, green with envy of the joy and freedom that we have in Christ that we have to keep an eye on.

At Christmas, greet everyone with a cheery MERRY CHRISTMAS  NOT happy holiday and take time to read the Biblical account of what Christmas is really all about.

See Luke chapter 1 and 2 in the Bible

The year that Christ Jesus was born, the world was held once again in the terrible grip of that cruel oppressor. This time the “old Grinch” was seated in Rome demanding to be worshipped as the Caesar.

Is it any wonder that the shepherds were excited when the Angel of God appeared to them that starry night, proclaiming;

“Behold, I bring to you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour who is Christ the Lord! And this will be a sign to you; you will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the Angel, a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest! And on earth, peace, good will toward men!”

Peace and good will is never so precious as when one is living under the cruel rule of a Godless oppressor. These last few years, he who wants so desperately to stand in the place of God has taken the lives and tortured more human beings than ever before in history. This is why we must not only keep Christ in Christmas here at home but also in our churches, our schools and our country.

Make no mistake, if we are complacent, we will soon feel the sting of Satan’s wrath just as the world did during the first and second world wars, and as so many millions do around the world today, suffering under the latest disguise of the enemy.

What does Jesus have to say to encourage us? He says, “In this world we will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world!”

He also assures us that “We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.”

So keep praying, walk closely with Jesus and we will continue to have a Merry Christmas. He says, “Cast all your care upon Me, for I care for you.”

The real Grinch is on the prowl looking for whom he may devour… let us keep our eyes and minds open to that deception.

May every Christmas be one that we can enjoy in Peace and Quiet in this Free country.
